Artinis and NIRx join forces to accelerate innovation in brain imaging

Elst, The Netherlands, 8 July 2025Artinis Medical Systems, a pioneer in functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS), is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with NIRx Medical Technologies. With the support of healthcare investor Gilde Healthcare, this collaboration marks a significant milestone in Artinis’ mission to advance neuroscience through accessible, high-impact neuroimaging solutions.


This partnership brings together two world-leading fNIRS innovators, aligned around a shared vision to accelerate brain imaging innovation and broaden global access to cutting-edge research tools. Artinis will continue to operate under its own name, from its existing location.

By joining forces, Artinis will benefit from combined scale and complementary strengths, allowing for greater investment in R&D, expanded sales and support capacity, and a broader reach across both basic and applied neuroscience. Leadership continuity is ensured, with Willy Colier and Marianne Floor continuing to lead Artinis, and Patrick Britz and Mylène Henry heading NIRx. Together, they are part of the new group’s leadership team.
