Practical information about the symposium

The Artinis symposium is an open platform for NIRS enthusiasts. Our particitants include academic students, scientists, and both experienced and novice researchers. During these 2.5-days we offer lots of hands-on experiences, NIRS workshops, scientific lectures, social events and possibilities to share your experiences with us and other attendees. The core topics will include the latest developments and studies in neuroscience, brain-computer interfaces, psychology, neonatology, multi-modal applications like NIRS/EEG/tCS, physiology and sports science.


The venue

Surroundings

The Strandhotel Golfzang is located on the boulevard of Egmond aan Zee, only 10 meters from the beach.  Within 500 meters from the hotel, you will find the town center, with many restaurants and cafes. The beautiful surroundings of beach, dunes, and woods are ideal for walking or cycling. Visit the historic city of Alkmaar, where you can see the ancient canals of this beautiful city. The village of Bergen is definitely worth a visit, or experience the underwater world at the aquarium in Bergen aan Zee. You can also enjoy the abundance of art, culture, and nature in the area. Keukenhof

Keukenhof is the international and independent showcase for the Dutch floricultural sector, with a special emphasis on flower bulbs. In the space of eight weeks Keukenhof shows what the Dutch floricultural sector has to offer.

Zaanse Schans, zaandam

The Zaanse Schans is a residential area in which the 18th and 19th centuries are brought to life. Make a cycling or sailing trip, browse the shops or treat yourself at the pancake restaurant. A day out at the Zaanse Schans is fun and educational.

Amsterdam

As the commercial capital of the Netherlands and one of the top financial centres in Europe, Amsterdam is considered an alpha world city by the Globalization and World Cities (GaWC) study group. The city is also the cultural capital of the Netherland.

Tickets and accommodation

The ticket consists of the conference registration, includes all the talks and workshops, welcome coffee/tea on the 9th, 2 nights accommodation including a sumptuous breakfast, 2 lunches, dinner on the 9th and dinner at the sea on the 10th.

Early Bird rate:

  • 495 euro (with a single use of room)

  • 395 euro (with shared room)

Normal rate:

  • 595 euro (with a single use of room)

  • 495 euro (with shared room)

Additional night for arrival on Wednesday 8th can be booked for 85 euro for 1 person, 125 euro for 2 persons. Additional nights after the conference can be booked for 100 euro for 1 person or 150 euro for 2 persons.

For all bookings, a full sea view room can be booked for an additional 40 euros/night. These rooms are limited so be quick! All the rooms and the restaurant give access to free Wi-Fi.

Parking

Parking can be reserved for 8 euros per day (street parking opposite the hotel) or 13 euros per day for underground parking.

Starting from the Amsterdam Schiphol airport we suggest you to go to the location by:

  • Taxi > A taxi service from Schiphol to Egmond aan Zee has a fixed price of 70 euro. Book your taxi here.

  • Public transportation > If you prefer to go by train and bus, you can use 9292 to plan and schedule your trip.
